Familypark - Adventure, Adrenaline and Nostalgia at Austria’s Largest Amusement Park
When it comes to family-friendly destinations in Austria, there’s no way around Familypark in Burgenland. We tried it out with our two kids (7 and 11 years old) – and we can honestly say: this place promises tons of fun, thrills, and a touch of magic!
Our first impression: clean, charming, and huge!
From the moment you enter, you can tell the park is made with love. Everything is spotless, beautifully designed, and the atmosphere feels pleasantly relaxed – despite its impressive size (14 hectares!). Shady tree-lined paths lead past lovingly detailed scenery that instantly sparks a sense of adventure.
Four Themed Worlds Full of Experiences
The park is divided into four creatively designed areas:
- Adventure Castle – medieval thrills and adrenaline kicks
- Adventure Island – water fun, pirates & daring maneuvers
- Farmyard – tractor rides, apple flights & plenty of animal fun
- Fairy Tale Forest – pure nostalgia, perfect for slowing down
The Fairy Tale Forest was a highlight for us – it brought back memories from our own childhoods. The shady oak forest is the perfect place to take a break from the action, while the charming fairy-tale scenes amazed even us parents.
Our Favorite Attractions (Especially for the Brave!)
The mix of playgrounds, water rides, and action-packed attractions is perfect for elementary school kids – but older kids and adults won’t be disappointed either.
Our personal top rides:
- 🎢 Götterblitz – pure adrenaline!
- 🐭 Rattenmühle – fast & full of twists
- 🧠 Leonardos Flugmaschine – creative & dizzying
- 🌪️ Stellarium – floating through the galaxy
- 🤪 Verrückte Vogelscheuche – a wild ride!
- 💦 Biberburg & Krokobahn – get ready to get soaked!
Tip:Pack a change of clothes – water rides almost guarantee you’ll get wet. On hot days, though, they’re a must!
Timing & Tips for a Relaxed Adventure
- Opening hours: 10 am – 7 pm, usually from early April to early November
- Best times to visit: Weekdays & outside school holidays – wonderfully quiet
- Park strategy:Head straight to the back after entry and start with the big attractions
- Familypark App: A must-have – it shows real-time waiting times!
Fastpass? Unfortunately, no. But: pay once and everything is included!
🎂 Children under 3 get in free, and birthday kids up to 14 as well.
🎟️ Online tickets cost around €35–39. An annual pass is worth it for frequent visitors.
Food & Comfort
There are plenty of restaurants, snack stands, and shops – something for every taste. We thought the value for money was fair, and the regional specialties were a pleasant surprise! Also great: lots of seating and picnic areas. And the toilets? Impeccably clean.

Our Conclusion
For us, Familypark is the amusement park for families in Austria. Whether for a day trip or as part of a weekend getaway – this is a place to laugh, scream (with joy!), splash around, and be amazed. Elementary school kids will have the ultimate fun here, but younger and older children (and yes, adults too!) will also love it.
