Starting Point: St. Jakob in Haus, Bergbahn Pillersee Mountain Station
The Buchsteinwand rises to 1,456 meters in the middle of the Pillerseetal, offering a breathtaking panorama from its peak. From the iconic Wilde Kaiser mountain range and the Kitzbühel Alps to the Leogang and Loferer Steinberge and the majestic Grossglockner, the views stretch far beyond Tyrol. A major highlight is the Jakobskreuz, the world’s tallest walkable summit cross at 30 meters. A scenic flower trail, an easy 1.6 km loop, leads from the mountain station directly to the cross and then along the ridge to a reservoir with a playground.
